In partnership with West Hartford PRIDE, Out Film CT is proud to share with you some FREE MOVIES that you can watch from the comfort of your own home during PRIDE weekend! These films are not available on Netflix or other streaming platforms – they’re available just for people celebrating West Hartford PRIDE! Thanks to West Hartford PRIDE for their generosity in bringing these films to the community!

 

Here’s how it works!

• You must REGISTER to watch the films.  
• While the registration period ended on Thursday, 6/25, a few back-up screener links may be available. Click on the Register Now button below for instructions. 
• Once you register, you will receive an email  with your own personal screening link.
• Each unique screening link is good for 24 hours from the time you click on it.
• The movies are ONLY available to watch on Saturday, June 27 & Sunday, June 28 (until midnight).
• There is no charge to register or watch the films.

CHANGING THE GAME   

You’ve heard about it in the news how the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference is being sued in federal court for allowing transgender athletes Andraya Yearwood & Terry Miller to compete in girls’ track events. Learn more about the important issues at stake through this compelling documentary.

Michael Barnett’s dynamic documentary takes us into the lives of several high school athletes—all at different stages of their athletic seasons, personal lives, and unique paths as transgender teens. Their stories span across the U.S.—from Andraya and Terry, track stars in Connecticut, to Sarah, a skier and teen policymaker in New Hampshire, and Mack Beggs, who made headlines last year when he became the Texas State Champion in wrestling and was heralded as a hero by some while receiving hate and threats from others.

GAY CHORUS DEEP SOUTH

Winner of the Best Documentary Audience & Jury Awards at the 2019 Connecticut LGBTQ Film Festival…

Following the divisive 2016 presidential election and a wave of anti-LGBTQ laws in southern states, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus embarks on a tour of the American Deep South to try to set the record straight about LGBTQ people. With allies in the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, they use music to bring a message of love, hope and acceptance to communities and individuals confronting intolerance. The journey brings them into people’s homes, churches and concert halls, and reveals the powerful backstories of several chorus members and their leader. This is a celebration of the power of music to unite us in a time of “otherness,” and an unflinching look at the influence religion has in contemporary American society.

A WORM IN THE HEART

Shot in six cities along the Trans-Siberian Railway, this gripping documentary follows gay couple Paul Rice and Liam Jackson Montgomery as they embark upon a tense journey to detail the lives and stories from the LGBTQ+ community across Russia. Meeting with Nobel Peace prize nominees, drag queens, and ordinary folks those who have suffered brutal homophobic attacks, his documentary details the current state of the Russian queer community — giving both broad societal overviews and deeply personal accounts from activists and non-activists alike.
