Synopsis: In a year when the word ‘sexual’ invariably seems to be followed by ‘abuse’ or ‘harassment,’ Call Me By Your Name is a reminder that sexuality can be a joyful, consensual experience. Set ‘somewhere in Northern Italy,’ it covers one sun-kissed summer with the family of a classical archaeology professor (Michael Stuhlbarg): his Italian wife (Amira Casar), 17-year-old son Elio (Timothée Chalamet), and Oliver, his American graduate student assistant (Armie Hammer). The days pass in leisurely erotic tension, as the polyglot, precocious Elio and the comfortable-in-his-own-skin Oliver edge closer to reaching out for happiness and desire.
