Wini + George

Wini + George
Directed by Benjamin Monie
2013, USA, 12 min

When George, a shy 9-year-old outcast, moves into the same apartment complex as Wini, a 75-year-old recluse, he’s immediately frightened by her. But soon enough, these two realize that they have more in common with each other than they do with the rest of the world.

2014_BeyondTheMirror'sGaze

Beyond the Mirror’s Gaze
Directed by Iris Moore
2012, Canada, 4 min

In this utterly endearing animation by Iris Moore, a couple gets to know themselves and each other by exchanging their eyes, genitalia and facial features with different ones. The exchange of body parts (with the biology and playfulness of Potatohead toys) for the sole sake of new corporeal experiences, has us question our own preconceptions about the body’s rigid immutability.

2014_GoodMorning

Good Morning
Directed by Stephen Dunn & Peter Knegt
2014, Canada, 10 min

What happens when you wake up remarkably hungover on the morning after your 30th birthday to find that there’s a teenager sleeping on your couch (but thankfully not in your bed)? This film comically examines ideas of sexual identity and age anxiety through the awkward interaction of this perhaps not-so-rude awakening.

2014_She-Said-She-Said

She Said, She Said
Directed by Stuart Blumberg
2013, USA, 7 min

On the brink of divorce, a lesbian couple (Marisa Tomei and Elodie Bouchez) attempts to divide their possessions through mediation. Through each object, we get a glimpse of their relationship and the sometimes humorous and sexy power that objects can hold on our lives and emotions.

FEATURE PRESENTATION

2014_boymeetsgirl

Boy Meets Girl

Directed by Eric Schaeffer
2014, USA, 95 min

Eric Schaeffer’s new film is a poignant, sexy, romantic coming of age comedy about three twenty year-olds living in Kentucky: Robby (Michael Welch, Twilight) and his best friend since childhood, Ricky, a gorgeous transgender girl, have never dated. Lamenting the lack of eligible bachelors, Ricky even considers dating a girl. In walks Francesca, a beautiful young debutante waiting for her Marine fiancé to return from the war. Ricky and Francesca strike up a friendship, and maybe a little more, which forces everyone to face their true feelings. This is a sex/human positive modern fable that crosses all gender and sexual orientation lines.
